Time to Act Is Short – Recycling Needs Your Help Now!

Less than two weeks remain in the public comment period for EPA’s proposed rules for coal ash disposal.  Now is the time to send EPA a message that disposal regulations should be strengthened without jeopardizing recycling.

Using the Citizens for Recycling First “Action Alert” tool, it takes less than 30 seconds to enter your contact information and send a comment to the EPA opposing a damaging “hazardous waste” designation for coal ash. You can use the comment that we suggest or change it to your own words.  You can access the Action Alert tool here:  http://www.recyclingfirst.org/form.php

You may have responded earlier when we asked you to sign up on www.recyclingfirst.org as a Supporter.  The “Action Alert” is a different – and frankly, even more important – thing to do.  Anti-coal environmental groups are generating thousands of letters to EPA supporting a hazardous waste designation for coal ash.  It is imperative that we also send thousands of letters from citizens who believe that recycling coal ash is the better way to go.

We only have until November 19!  Please act today to get as many people as you can to click the “Action Alert” and send a comment to the EPA.
